What is Limited Edition Art?
Limited edition art is artwork produced in a fixed number of prints and released for sale. Each print is designated by its own unique serial number and is typically signed and numbered by the artist. Once the edition is sold out, no additional prints are produced and the artwork is retired. Limited edition prints are highly sought after by collectors and may be more valuable than open-edition prints.
What is a Giclée?
“Giclée” (pronounced “Zhee-Clay”) is a high-quality fine art printing process that uses archival pigment inks. It has become a standard method for fine art reproduction and may be produced in different sizes and on different materials, including paper, canvas and aluminum.
What is an Embellished Canvas?
Embellishing a canvas involves adding hand-applied details or texture to create greater visual and tactile depth. Artists or studios may use additional paint or other materials to highlight selected areas of the image. Embellishment can range from subtle accents to more pronounced texture and can enhance the overall appearance of the artwork.
What is Secondary Market Art?
Secondary market art generally refers to limited editions that are sold out through the publisher and are later offered through galleries, collectors or resale channels. It may also refer to artwork that has previously been sold at least once. Market value can change over time depending on rarity, demand, condition and other factors.
What is an AP or Artist Proof Print?
An Artist Proof, often marked “AP,” is a print from a smaller edition traditionally reserved for the artist’s review, personal use or distribution. Artist Proofs are generally produced in lower quantities than the standard numbered edition and may be desirable to collectors because of their relative rarity.
What is a COA (Certificate of Authenticity)?
A Certificate of Authenticity, or COA, is a document or label that accompanies an artwork and provides information intended to help verify its authenticity. It may include the artist’s name, artwork title, edition information and an identification number. COAs may be issued by artists, publishers or galleries.
What is Gallery Wrap or Stretched Canvas?
A gallery wrap canvas is stretched around a deeper wooden stretcher frame so the canvas continues around the sides, allowing it to be displayed without a traditional frame. A stretched or museum-stretch canvas is mounted on thinner stretcher bars and is often intended to be placed inside a decorative frame. Both methods are commonly used for displaying canvas artwork.
How Do You Ship Fine Art?
Very, very carefully. We insure our shipments and pack artwork to arrive in excellent condition. If damage occurs during shipping, please contact us immediately and no later than five days after delivery. We will arrange for the damaged merchandise to be collected by the original carrier. If a replacement is available, we will ship it after the original artwork has been returned and inspected. If the artwork is no longer available, we will discuss an exchange or refund after inspection.
Do You Ship Prints Flat or Rolled?
We generally ship unframed prints rolled unless the artwork is mounted on stretcher bars. Flat shipping or shipping artwork on stretcher bars may involve an additional charge.
Should I Ship to My Workplace?
If possible, shipping to a workplace can be helpful because someone is often available to sign for the delivery, which may reduce delays. If you are shipping to your workplace, please include the business name in the shipping address.
Do You Offer Expedited Shipping?
Please contact us. When possible, we will do our best to accommodate expedited shipping requests. Framed artwork may require production time, and large packages can be significantly more expensive to ship by Next Day Air or Second Day Air because of dimensional weight. Some publishers or vendors may also charge rush fees. Expedited shipping charges are based on the additional cost above standard ground shipping.
Do You Ship to APO Addresses, PO Boxes, Alaska and Hawaii?
We do not ship to APO addresses, Post Office Boxes or personal mailbox services because fine art shipments generally require carrier delivery and a signature. Items that are not oversized may be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii for an additional freight charge. We do not currently offer international shipping.
Does the Price Shown Include Framing?
No. Framing is not included in the artwork price. We do not currently offer framing because of the additional shipping cost and the increased risk of damage during transport.
Can I Buy Just an Unframed Print of the Framed Art?
When possible, yes. To reduce shipping costs, we prefer to sell and ship artwork unframed. Unframed artwork is carefully rolled and shipped in a protective tube. Some works may already be stretched on stretcher bars. In certain cases, the bars can be removed so the artwork can be rolled for shipping.
What Are the Ways I Can Order or Make Payment?
Orders and payment arrangements may be made through the website, by phone, by email or by wire transfer. We accept Mastercard and Visa through PayPal, and a PayPal account is not required to pay by credit card through PayPal. Credit card information is entered directly into the secure payment system and is not visible to us. Personal checks require additional time to clear. Money orders may also be accepted. We do not accept COD orders.
What is Your Return Policy?
We do not accept returns unless otherwise authorized. Our artworks were acquired from the publisher for the Pino family and are sold as new unless otherwise stated. Each piece is inspected before shipping. If we identify a visible issue before shipment, we will contact you and provide close-up photographs before the artwork is sent.
Please do not return artwork without authorization. Any authorized return must display the issued return authorization number on the package. Packages returned without prior authorization may be refused.
